On 28th October we will be celebrating the biggest Big Draw BCN in history!

On Sunday 28th October the ninth edition of Big Draw BCN arrives and does so with important novelties.  This year, the major festivity of drawing is bigger with more collaborators, spaces and workshops so that everyone can express their creativity.  Together we will bring true the festival’s slogan: Barcelona draws!

As in previous editions, the Big Draw BCN is organised by the Museu Picasso, but in this case jointly with the Institute of Culture of Barcelona City Council. Furthermore, another five entities have joined as collaborators of the event: the Museu d’Art Contemporani, the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, the Museu del Disseny, the Museu de Ciències Naturals and the Fundació Joan Miró.

This joining of forces will result in the holding of 40 free of charge workshops in various spaces of the city; specifically, the neighbourhoods of la Ribera, Santa Caterina, Sant Pere, Parc de Montjuïc, el Raval, el Parc and the Llacuna del Poblenou, el Clot and the Parc del Fòrum. You can consult all the venues in the official website of the Big Draw BCN.

Apart from being free of charge, the workshops will function in a non-stop way from 11 in the morning to 7 in the evening (or 6 in the evening in the open air spaces). They will be open to everyone, and prior registration is not required, nor is it necessary to bring any material to participate; you only need to be eager to experiment with drawing, painting, collage, photography and other artistic techniques.  The workshops will be given by artists, illustrators, architects, designers and other professionals who will help us to get the most out of our imagination and to produce small Works of art, which all together will make very big ones!

A good way of having all the information on hand of the Big Draw BCN 2018 is to download the official programme in digital format, but you can also consult the official website of the festival or follow the Twitter account @BigDrawBCN. By any of these means you can inform yourself about the workshops being held and the spaces where they will take place.  So you can choose the ones you like most and plan your Sunday.

We look forward to seeing you on the 28th October in great drawing party and we will be very happy if you share your creations on the social networks with the hashtag #BigDrawBCN, above all on Twitter and Instagram. We will also be preparing a gallery of images that will surely be as spectacular as last year’s one, when more than 10,000 people participated.  Don’t miss it!
