This past month of June we awarded the prizes to the winners of the competition of short stories “Picasso in Words” organised jointly with the Open University of Catalonia (OUC). Here we show you the winning stories:

The 4th edition of the competition of short stories “Picasso in Words” already has winners! This year we would like to highlight the fact that the category of 12 to 18 years old has two winners given that the quantity and quality of the proposals received has made us opt for this double prize.
On May 18th, the International Museum Day will be held, and to celebrate it we will be offering an open-doors day. And as this year it coincides with the Night of the Museums… we will be open until one o’clock in the morning!
Furthermore, like last year, all the museums that celebrate it will participate in the multimedia programme “A piece of the story” in which we share with the online visitors a secret story or unknown detail about the centre or the objects of the collection. And here we leave you with our little piece of history:
The session for the Textos españoles: 1894-1968 (Spanish Texts 1894-1968 ) by Pablo Picasso with Malén Gual, Curator of the museum, was a delight. It was a unique occasion in the Reading Club in which we had the pleasure of completing with images by the painter, some of his texts that demanded so, with such strength.
Two years ago, the museum proposed to children and adults a new way of enjoying and looking at the works of the Collection through the tales and the stories that Patricia McGill and Ignasi Potrony, two storytellers with a long trajectory, constructed in the rooms with their imagination and that of all the participants.
We are currently getting ready to stage the latest “Picasso in Words” micro-story writing competition!, which is now in its third year! The event was launched in 2010 as a joint venture between the Museu Picasso and the LletrA project at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), and each year and we are happier with the level of participation and the results.
