This autumn we are renewing the galleries of the collection

Last week we started the changes to the permanent collection of the museum to renew the galleries for this autumn. Throughout the year we have been systematically changing a certain number of drawings and paintings, turning, in this way, the collection into a living organism which is renewed and modified non-stop. Changes in the Collection this spring

During the month of May we will be making changes in the galleries of the Collection. The reasons for these changes that we do periodically are due in some cases to preventive conservation and also for reformulations of the expositive discourse of the galleries, either to exhibit works that are not normally seen or because of the temporary loans to exhibitions of the museum and also to exhibitions of other centres. The creative process of “Yo Picasso.Self-portraits”

We started this exhibition project more than three years ago, the only way in which an exhibition of such a size could have been developed.  We presented the project to the Museu Picasso at the beginning of 2010 and it was accepted straight away, so it was necessary to get working quickly. The first question we asked ourselves was, obviously, if it had been done before. This spring’s changes to the Collection

During this month of May we are carrying out new changes in the works exhibited in the Collection. In some cases, as for example the works on paper, the changes are being done for reasons of preventive conservation, but we are also taking advantage of these modifications to be able to show all the wealth of the Collection following a coherent expositive discourse and bringing to light works which perhaps are not so well known from these periods of Picasso.
