The Jaume Sabartés archive is kept here at the Picasso Museum. It arrived in two different instalments, the first, when Sabartés died in 1968, and bequeathed part of his archive to the museum in his will. Picasso himself sent the documents to the museum and they were received by Josep Selva on the 16th of February in 1968. The next part was purchased from the Miquel Alzueta gallery on the 29th of September in 2008. To definitively close the autumn-winter season in the Museu Picasso, we would like to do a photographic review of the activities within the framework of the exhibitions that we have organised over the past few months. «Picasso. Portraits», from March 17th to June 25th 2017, lands in the Museu Picasso of Barcelona after being well received in the National Portrait Gallery of London. The exhibition highlights the importance of portrait for the artist with 81 works that reflect the extraordinary range of styles that he cultivated with all the techniques and during all the phases of his extensive career. 24 oil paintings, 33 drawings, 6 sculptures, 8 photographs and 7 prints, from public and from private collections from all over the world, make up this magnificent exhibition.
